There’s a rocket on the launching pad…two American Journalists still being held captive. Is anyone from the State Department talking to North Korea?

Mariasampson, this won't be in order cuz I can't find your comment here. You are so right about Clinton's
visit to Mexico. North Korea should be our main concern now. As for it not being front page news, our newspaper
the Post Tribune in northwest Indiana had an article about 2 inches high in the back of the paper, the last page.
I wrote to them and told them to stop with the fluff news and get something important in the paper. I don't
    expect a response from them.

  2. mariasampson says:

The fact that the President has been avoiding this issue is not reassuring. Why weren't there any queswtions about North Korea during the press conference? I would think any question regarding North Korea would have been just as pressing as questions about mentions of race in the White House.

Not only is this Administration making it easier for terroists to attack us, not address North Korea is putting two of our states in a precarious position.

Instead of spending time in Mexico, Sec. Clinton should have been making North Korea her priority. This needs to be front page news. The United States cannot sit by and see what the U.N. is going to or not going to enforce.

VP Biden spoke of one test. How many tests is this President going to get? How many is he going to fail?

  3. cheeta0521 says:

I stand corrected. The chosen one's real name is Barry Sottero, not Sotoera. Either way, this country is
doomed unless we rise up together. We need to get the word out to other Americans before it is too late.
    God help this country.

  4. cheeta0521 says:

I just read that Obama's real name is Barry Sotoero and that Barack Hussein Obama is just a fictional name.
If it is true we surely have big trouble ahead. The antichrist has arrived.

  5. cheeta0521 says:

I have never seen the reaction of the country as much as I have after this election. The mindless followers of
the "chosen one" think he can do no wrong. He is leading us down the road to socialism and if we don't stop this
it will be too late. Please someone, what can we do to stop this?

  6. IntenseDebate Notification <DIV>According to wnd.com the suit filed by Orly Taitz will be reviewed by Justice </DIV> <DIV>Roberts and Justice Scalia. Also on wnd.com today a retired military in TN has filed a criminal suit against Obama. Seems like there should be some legal remedy for the citizens to force the records to be made public. I think the reason Obama is pushing so much at us so fast is he might get found out. </DIV> <DIV style=”FONT: 10pt arial”>

  7. Aspade says:

Scorpion, yea unfortunately there is a very striking resemblence between the roman empire and us, hence my subtle Caesar reference.

  8. Everytime I hear about N. Korea's latest move I ask myself this question: When Biden said (and I am paraphrasing because I can't keep up with everything that man says) "mark my words Obama will make a decision we might not like but we need to stand behind him" I wonder if he will do something really stupid like 1. not send those extra troops to Afghanistan 2. Will only send enough troops to the border to get them killed 3. Will bend over and take it from Russia, China, Iran, N. Korea etc. What is next? I know something is in his (Obama's) head because he has a serious case of ADD. He is the jack of all trades and master of none and he will get us killed if he continues down his path. We look weak to the rest of the world right now and that is a very bad place to be. Clinton is blaming all of us for Mexico's drug cartel violence, asking Russia to be our friend…it's all nonsense. The world knows we are broke and they know now is the time to play war games to "test the mettle of" Obama.

  9. Yankee99 says:

This is a major wake up call for the president and his foreign policy crew. The very fact that he has not said anything is disturbing. Is he waiting for N. Korea to contact him or shoot off their rocket? Or is he waiting for another country to react, Japan is worried and taking precautions. Our military says it will shoot down the rocket if it comes down to that, but why should it. The President should be taking this situation very seriously but he is more worried about getting more power to the Treasury and campaigning for his bill. It seems that all this President can do is campaign and create groups that are working for him to solve problems. And if the problems are solved by those groups he will take credit. He has a big ego and no intelligence that is a bad combination.

  10. EricEttinger says:

I just looked at Obamas budget on the White House web site. To me it looks like the department of defense gets a 4% budget increase. NASA gets a 15% increase. Anyone else think this is backwards?

  11. Aspade says:

Address the economic crisis and forget about N.K? While the economic crisis is just that most certainly, I would say that nuclear weapons in the hands of a psychotic nut job like K.J.I. also qualifies as a potential crisis.

  12. We all need to join resistnet.com in our own states and we all need to sign the petition on wnd.com to force Obama to prove he's eligible to be president. The only thing he is qualified for is to SPEND, SPEND, SPEND! We need him out of office. Need to totally clean house in Washington and get people in who respect the citizens of this country and who will uphold our Constitution – not turn it into shambles!

    • Angel68 says:

Obama is not a natural born citizen. He has been taken all the way to the Supreme Court of the USA but yet you do not see anyone doing anything about his noncitizenship. Go to http://www.cusc.org/cases/Berg-v-Obama/
and you can read everything about this case. This, I think, is another case for impeachment added to what Treasurer/Oboma is trying to do now with trying to take over businesses which is not even in the Constitution anywhere. They do not have the power to do any of these things.

  13. DaveK says:

PresBO is more concerned with his community organizing (ACORN organizing AIG protests), and his Cap & Trade legislation, which he's been working on since at least 2000 when he was on the board of one of the first Cap & Trade entities located in Chi Town. Let's not forget all his programs designed to create a nanny state thru income redistribution. It all fits right in with his liberal statist mentality. He's going to talk nice nice w/Dear Leader, Ahmadinejad (my favorite hostage taking terrorist from 1979), Putin/Medvedev, Jintao, the Castro bros and Hugo. He'll assure them that, if everybody plays nice, we can achieve utopia. Has anyone seen the Constitution?

  14. GodHelpUsAll says:

But not too flashy or colorful, people will think we're marching for a different cause, you know? …..Somewhere over the rainbow? : )

  15. GodHelpUsAll says:

Exactly! You said a mouth full there.

  16. EricEttinger says:

Does any one else think it is a bad idea to not put more money in to our military? Remeber, China is increasing military spending by 15% a year. This frankly scares me. Who is going to be the next world superpower? That word is probably not politically correct though. I should have said. Oh yea I'm not politically correct.

  17. gk4freedom says:

Love all the comments so far…but I am thinking now would be a good time to re-locate the United Nations to the island of Diego Garcia. As usual during times of great crisis, its castrated power to accomplish anything is evident. Many of its (United Nations) members are the same people who lobby the left-wing power brokers in Washington, At the very least, by re-locating the UN to as remote a place as possible, we relieve New Yorkers of an eyesore, the taxpayers of the US their financial burden, and law enforcement would benefit by not having to figure out who the enemy really is. Just a thought…in the words of the Obama cabinet…"never let a good crisis go to waste"

  18. TheDonk13 says:

North Korea is a joke! Always have been, always will be. They are merely a scapegoat used by China. They are the kickoff to a much bigger game. North Korea is the pimple on top of the Boil that is WW3. I know, I'm a paranoid nutt, but if anything happens to them, then China steps in, then Russia wants to play, then We have to do something, and so on and so on.

I've been to South Korea, I've seen North Koreans. They are malnutritioned and sickly looking. Their military may be standing, but its not strong enough to sustain a long fight. That is why they build bombs. You wanna beat North Korea and end its tyranny over the people. Bomb the entire country with pamphlets and rations and tell the people if they want to be free, just "unclench his fist".

    • gk4freedom says:

Isn't the silence of our so-called allies deafening? America is reeling from an economic tsunami and is being lead by an apologetic pacifist (Obama) who can't wait to take the wealth from his own people and re-distribute it world-wide. We have crisis in Mexico, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Korea and on and on and the world sits back and waits for us to self-destruct…we have thousands upon thousands of our youngest and best men buried on foreign soils…row upon row of white crosses who represent sons and fathers and life interrupted for what seems an UNGRATEFUL world. Not only do we die for others, we then sacrifice our bounty and re-build nation after nation after nation. We are always the first to help in disasters, and fight for the freedom of others…and this is WHY WE ARE THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH…and why pip squeaks like the leader of Korea who can't FEED his own people will never be great. Enjoy your toys, Kim Son Ill, you are about to play with the big boys.

    • Aspade says:

N.K. is nothing? All we have to do is pass out potato chips and feel good fliers and N.K. will jump on board with us? Holllllly…wow! I am stunned by your ignorance. While I do agree that N.K. could be a catalyst for WW3 I absolutely disagree with you on everything else! Let me catch you up on some history. Russia's government was a mess during WW2 yet almost uncountable numbers of men and women died WILLINGLY to defend it. Vietnam, same song different dance. Iraq same song different dance. You don't seem to understand that these cultures aren't just going to trade their AK's for an American hug! If you had truly spent time doing something other than enjoying the spa in S.K. you may have picked up on that! I cannot speak for the power of the N.K. army but I can speak for their numbers. What they may lack in power they most certainly make up in numbers. If it was so simple then I think that S.K. would have handled the issue. S.K. has some impressive soldiers known as the "rock soldiers" and if S.K. hasn't seen fit to do the job then there is probably a reason for that. Make no mistake N.K. is undeniably a threat. They may not be a quote unquote military super power but they got nuclear tech and they are crazy enough to use it against the first person they can in an effort for you to regard them as a super power. Kinda like a bar fight, when confronted with 5 guys you pick the biggest one and punch him right in the face in hopes that you make an example. Class dismissed.

  19. Gatekeeper says:

"North Korea insists it bears the right to develop its space program…" Develop a feed your people program and free them from your Gulags program. North Korea is dictated by a bunch of paranoid nuts!

  20. Cracker6 says:

You got China spending more money on their military, Iran still building their nuclear capabilities, he is downsizing Iraq, surging troops to Afghanistan, Russia bases in Cuba and Venzesula, Russian selling componets to Iran, and North Korea is about to launch a missile. He just not only doesn't know what he is doing he is overwhelmed. Take notes This is what happen when you have someone in office that has no military experience. Clinton for instance cut down our military. Now we have units that our combat fatigue. Not just active duty units but national guard units too!

  21. North Korea reminds me of a spoiled child trying to get attention from their parents. Obama hasn't said anything about North Korea. They got jealous that Obama addressed Iran and not them. Just assassinate the SOB and get it over with. No one would miss that little pipsqueek.

  22. Gregory says:

I'll just bet the media runs with these overseas problems. First they tried to get the public's attention focused on the evil men at AIG, then focus on Jay Leno. Perhaps if they can get the American people to focus half way around the world, then they might be able to get something done.

There are many problems around the world, but we need to keep our eye on the ball that's bouncing around in DC.

  23. ISEEU says:

Its almost like the world is threatening the wimps in charge to make the move towards the new world currency.

  24. I know our DOD is watching this closely and said they would take action if necessary – US Prepared to Shoot Down N. Korean Rocket, If Necessary. It will be interesting to see if the trajectory of the rocket causes enough concern for an interception.

Then, if that does happen, it will be interesting to see if N. Korea follows up on their threat – N. Korea Threatens Retaliation If Satellite Intercepted.

What do you think will happen if this is the case? Interesting.

  25. TheAudacity says:

Alaska? Oh wait…Palin's there…Yeah, no. Can't save her she's too much of a threat to Obama and the libs. She's too smart, and people like her way too much.

  26. It doesn't surprise me one bit that Korea is going to try to launch another missile. They definitely have a bad case of little man syndrome. I wonder if they lured the two American reporters into their country for leverage against us? Maybe they were planning on using our reporters to keep America from attacking them after they launched their missile. It's just a theory but seems plausible.

    • TheAudacity says:

North Korea probably did kidnap our reporters for leverage. They're notorious for their kidnapping plots.

I really wish we had a president in office who had the balls to flex HIS muscles, instead of letting his wife show off hers to Oprah. I say we pull another "Speak softly and carry a big stick" instead this time we "Speak strongly and carry a bigger stick."

  27. Vindex22 says:

"possible of reaching Alaska: threat to our National security. We need to show the world we have the technology and the right to take their missle out. it will most likely be a dud but that is no excuse…. in fact, if we really wanted to tell N. Korea to back off we take it out while on its launch pad…. too extreem but it would be a strong message to Iran also…

  28. Sandra42 says:

Regarding this story on Korea and the American hostages, Obama doesn't know what he is doing overseas, so he ignores things like this.

  29. scorpion says:

BO is more concerned with his rating and being a celebrity than the safety of our country or any other for that matter. I've never seen anything like it. I don't think he knows what being the president means!

    • cheeta0521 says:

      AGREE, AGREE, AGREE!!!

    • jeginathol says:

I think he does know and it is a bit more sinister than that. It's a perfect storm for a one world government and one world currency. I am not a conspirtcy theorist, but it seems he is doing one thing and saying something different everytime he speakst He did this on the campaign trail and the liberal media ignored it. I cannot even watch him as my stomach gets upset. I feel like I do when someone is lying to me. I am a 51 year old grandmother who is not prone to fear mongering. My gut is telling me this is wrong.

I suggest that we lay in at least 30 days of non-perishable food and water for our family. The economic collapse will be like dominos around the world and the masses will panic. There is no harm in protecting your family while we work on fixing the problems. Britain is preparing for a "Summer of Rage". So should we.

      • scorpion says:

We have had some bad presidents, but nothing like this. He is scary. Moving everything so fast toward his total control. What did these people that voted for him do to us and our country???

    • roccosam says:

This country will wake up when we are attacked again. What will the "Chosin One" call it when it happens?

      • scorpion says:

yes and I think he's making it a lot easier bringing the terrorists into our country from gitmo. This is crazy.

      • cheeta0521 says:

He sure won't call it an act of terror. It will be an "overseas contingency operation".This name changing is
making my blood boil. Everyday I hear something new that the anti-christ has done, or had his
cronies do, or will likely do. I cannot tolerate looking at him anymore. What he is doing reminds me
of Hitler and the nazi party.

    • Aspade says:

He most certainly doesn't know what being president means but I'll bet he knows what Caesar means. lol

  30. Patriottwo says:

All true. What we saw this election is a dumbed down, brain washed population respond to emotional slogans and elementary school propoganda. If it is nothing else, this election proves the public school system has done its job – revise history and warp the minds of our young. Why bother thinking of items Cracker6 calls out. BUT- in the next 3 years a third party CAN elect enough Patriots to cause a change in direction. The imbeded two party elites must be replaced. From your town/city all the way up to Washington. At the same time, continuous pressure on the jerks currentky imbedded in Washington has to be maintained. Lots of folks are waking up.

    • dw04 says:

Maybe 9-12 should adopt some flashy colors and bright flashing things, then maybe we can attract the attention of the media, and those brain washed people.

  31. bikerchic says:

    Biggest Security Threat: Economic Crisis
The new director of national intelligence, retired Adm. Dennis Blair, recently told Congress that the worldwide economic crisis is the single greatest threat to the national security of the United States, trumping even global terrorism and the proliferation of doomsday weapons. If the economic crisis deepens, which areas of the world are most vulnerable to political turmoil and instability, and what form might that take? Is there any danger that the current economic crisis could unleash additional forces of violent extremism and upheaval above what we already face, and perhaps on a par with those spawned by the economic turmoil of the 1920s and 1930s?

    http://security.nationaljournal.com/2009/03/bigge...

How in the world do we maintain a strong defense in the midst of a collapsing economy?

  32. ISEEU says:

Maybe its just me but this whole thing with the journalists getting captured at this point in time with a pending North Korea missile launch just stinks. First, how many journalists have been captured or even wanted to go into North Korea? Second, will them getting held hostage keep us from shooting down the missile, because we will fear for the journalist's lives? Third, what connection do these journalists have with AL Gore, because I read that they once worked for him in San Fran?

    • dw04 says:

Well I would say, "We don't negotiate with Terrorists", but that went out the window with BO, the slogan is now "We send sweet letters and videos to terrorists to try and make them like us"

  33. If Hillary opens her mouth she is lying. If Hillary was the AK governor, gosh I would not want to go there……I thought we bought them off, did I miss something? We should have listen to Patton.

  34. htrn says:

I read that Hillary said a launch by North Korea would not be taken lightly. What is that supposed to mean? That we'll say "We don't like it when you launch big rocket things" to North Korea after they have launched this?

I seriously don't know if this is a scientific expedition by North Korea or not. I have not been following that part of the world very closely. However, I do know that they hate us, they have made threats against us, they have kidnapped our people, and they are attempting to shoot what amounts to a long range rocket which could easily be modified into an intercontinental ballistic missile.

Does anyone else see very disturbing information in this? Perhaps we should start testing a rocket shield again. Start shooting dud rockets in the Pacific and knocking them out of the air to show that we are not going to be attacked by those that hate us shooting off their missiles. Public perception be what it will, we have the RIGHT to DEFEND ourselves.

  35. Aspade says:

I am much more a fan of being proactive militarily rather than reactive. We have the beloved U.N. however that doesn't like proactive, they like stalling things out for months and months with talk that mean nothing, and do nothing other than build the already heightening tensions between nations. We have a phenomenal special operations community in the U.S. and yet for some reason we just can't seem to utilize them to their max potential. N. Korea is a prime candidate for covert action in my book. The media and the American public seem to shy away from such things however. Oh that's bad we can't just go around taking people out. Well no we can't, but people like KJI in N. Korea will make you glow in the dark given the chance. A preemptive strike is not out of the question when it comes to saving potentially millions of lives in my book. It truly bakes my grits that our government chooses to send Hillary to such nations to talk tough as well. In many of those cultures women don't have the right to speak amongst men, women are viewed as possessions etc. So what do we do? Send a woman(Hillary none the less) to rattle their cages and lay down the law. Am I the only one who finds it funny that the U.S. starts talks with such nations by essentially insulting them by sending a woman? To be clear I in no way have any issue with female politicians, I am simply illustrating the fact that other nations do. N. Korea has been,is, and will be a problem, and a much bigger one if not dealt with swiftly. The kicker is all the lives both military and civilian that hang in the balance of our lack.

AKpilot – I just need to say I am so sorry some people in this country have treated your governor and the people of Alaska so horribly. I just can't believe there are such hateful people in this country. I've been saying for a long time that she was trashed because she scared the heck out of certain groups of people and they were afraid if they didn't trash her she would be our new Vice-Pres. right now.

    • She continues to be a threat to them as we speak, being from the outside( not a lawyer and having gone against the system ), they are still launching lawsuits at her to the point she is contemplating a defense fund as Glenn stated in last nights program. It would be interesting to find out if we could use those tactics to waste their resources as well to level the playing firld and gum up their works as well. There are many items that could be also frivolously thrown around as lawsuits that would serve to wear their people down. The money wasted could better be spent on offense than defense, and that is their goal.

It would be great if the government performed its primary mandate and protected the people. Living in Alaska I don't feel warm and fuzzy having North Korean missiles ready to make a new lake in my home state. Maybe if Hillary was Alaska's governor instead of Sarah Palin the administration would do something about that crazy dictator.

    • discouraged says:

It is not the people in Alaska that the government is concerned with. It is the polar bears and wolves.

    • NancyCalif says:

      WHOA!
Maybe this news story is another attempt to take the focus off what is happening in Washington.

Plus after watching last year's election campaigns about DRILLING isn't Alaska where a large portion of our oil reserves are??? GULP!
