It is clear that they are going to use the crisis on the border to push their anti-gun laws. This Administration has already made it clear that they do not like to let a good crisis go to waste.
As for the #1 Organized Crime movement? As someone said above, the United States Congress definitely fits that bill right now.
It would not take long. It has been done before, twice in the 20th century. FDR did it in the 1930's. It is simple. Legislation or Executive order that states all illegal aliens must leave the country now. And some backbone enforcement of the law.
Our greatest threat from organized crime does not come from outside of our borders; it comes from within our borders, and the enemy has been chosen by us, and the enemy is us. Our greatest threat comes in the form of our government, and it's becoming more organized against us everyday we don't put an end to it.
When will people on the right and left learn from history. Prohibition does not work!! It did not work for alcohol and it has not worked for drugs. We throw billions of dollars away annually in the "War on Drugs" and it has achieved nothing! People fear drugs and rightfully so. They destroy lives if abused. However it has been proven that legalization does not lead to mass usage in society. Other countries have successfully legalized drugs and have the same rate of addiction among their citizens as those that continue to keep them illegal.
If we legalize drugs, the profitability for the cartels and the drug gangs in the US would disappear overnight and soon thereafter would the violence caused by the cartels and gangs.
"War on Drugs" Makes me laugh. The number 1 crop in CA is marijuana. Why are we going to fight another war? This is on we have already lost! I agree, we need to legalize drugs, as much as I don't like it, but the money save plus the taxes collected would help our economy. Can anyone tell me the medical value of ciggarettes or alochol…There is none. At least marijuana helps people with cancer, aids and glocoma.(medical Value) It is time to think differently in this country.

Headline: America's 31 organized crime threat is actually Obama and his den of thieves. but I'm not keen on drug crime either. It's just that Obama's "family" is the most urgent, costly and far-reaching threat.
I agree 100%. As I listened to Hillary going on and on about the drug problem, the thought kept occurring to me that if one creates a problem then magically solves it, well then, they'll become a hero! How many of our politicians have done this hateful and ultimately treasonous thing? Funny how several people have pointed out that the drug problem falls into that very category. The Powers That Be have created the drug problem, the illegal problem, the bombing islamist problem IN OUR COUNTRY, and most every other problem our society faces today. The thing is they have created a multitude of problems to confuse people so they don't know which one to focus on and then the wires get crossed and the people get frustrated and give up. This is simply not a very smart thing to do. It falls into the category of, "Oh What A Tangled Web We Weave When First We Practice To Deceive".

The e-verify system would be a darn good start and by the way employers are required by law to verify that individuals are eligible to work in the US. The form is called an I-9. We could keep them from getting the jobs in the first place and then they have no reason to be here illegally. I would say most don't. I live in Florida and the grove workers that are illegal cannot open a bank account so carry their wages in cash. Without a social security number how can you pay taxes?

Yes, let's keep treating the symptoms… drugs and guns. Let's not work on improving Mexican industry or show them how to become an economic powerhouse. Of course we would have to take the plank out of our own eye and stop destroying our economy before we can help other nations.

It's rather confusing. The people of Texas are on the front line of any form of invasion from the south. That includes drugs and people, yet Hillary is saying it's our fault, and we should give up our guns? I saw some of those guns, and they where so old I would have been afraid to fire them. Sometimes when I look at all the indicators, it seems as if the U.S is getting primed to be a slave laborer for the world.
Don't forget about ammunition. Of course we need to own guns, but what good are they without the bullets? The easiest way to attack the 2nd amendment is via taxes, paperwork, and somehow limiting the supply of ammo. If you think about it, they don't even have to touch the guns.
There is a good site called GunsAmerica, that you can still order weapons along with ammunition. You'll have to wait for the mail, but as I have found out, it is sssoooooo worth it.
Its almost like our politicians have been pushing foreign investment in our country for all these years to turn our country into a global asset.

Where were all of you when Ross Perot was running for prez? Didn't he try to warn us about some of the mess we find our country in today? If you call the IRS with a question, and ask different IRS representatives, you will get different answers. None of which you can count on being correct come audit time. It just amazes me that after all these years of not really doing anything effective to control drugs at the source. That all of a sudden in the last three or four years, starting with Bush, they want to send all this money and military hardware to Mexico to combat drugs. It didn't make any sense to do it earlier, before the cartels got so established and so many people addicted in the U.S…Did it? No not that! And now after they screwed up I am getting the sense that Congress wants to do something that in the end will mainly affect the law abiding citizens of our country.

I couldn't agree more. On top of that, it's nearly impossible to find an assault weapon that hasn't already been bought by someone in the U.S. I have been looking for an assault rifle for nearly a month. You can't find them anymore. How are we supposed to protect ourselves if we can't even arm ourselves?

Part of the problem is the unprecedented demand. Manufacturers simply cannot fill orders fast enough. Retailers have backorders well into 2009. I've tried to purchase a semi-auto .223 since this past Fall without any luck. Your best bet is a gun show (if your State allows them) or a private purchase. The cherry on the sundae is a private purchase avoids registration.

The truth is, we do have a culture that loves drugs. Many legal, many illegal. It is a sad fact and one that I have witnessed personally in family members and friends. I would love to stop this insatiable appetite we have for self-destruction, but it is something that individual people need to wake up to and take personal responsibility for.
WE CAN and SHOULD stop allowing total welfare for such individuals to allow them to hit bottom and start pulling themselves back up to productivity. This will also allow them to start overcoming their issues.
I say this knowing full well that it is possible to avoid these things. I have a very addictive personality that I will admit to. My way of trying to combat this is to keep away from things that I would become easily addicted to. I drive through Nevada as fast as I can as I don't want to start the gambling bug. I have never touched Alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs. I don't even like to think about most prescription drugs.
The US cannot control the consumption habits of its people. It could finish the fence that Congress set aside funds for. I'll be that would help slow the flow a bit, but there is nothing aside from an individual resolve that is going to stop this war from happening.

I've been thinking this for years. Instead of our companies sending the work to China/overseas, why didn't they invest in Mexico's industry. The cost of transportation of goods would have been cut in half. It would have helped their economy, and the illegals would have stayed home.
We own a small manufacturing business and have looked at Mexico…it's not much cheaper than it is here and LOTS of rules – the Mex. govt. doesn't make it easy. Plus, I don't think the Mex. govt. is really too concerned for the welfare of it's citizens.
I believe that at one point our government tried to help Mexico have a stable economy, now if it was half assed I don’t know, and if the Mexico government is so corrupted it did not work I don’t know. I am not even sure if our Govt even tried, the point is that they (the Dems) are trying to find ways so we can not have our guns. Also this is not our fight until it is across the boarder, so if it is on the Mexico side it is not our problem and the ATF has no evidence that our guns are being used let alone even making it across the boarder, plus the Mexico Govt refuses to give serial number to the ATF to confirm. I know it sounds ban an insensitive when I say it is not our problem if it is on the Mexico side, but we need to worry about our selves and fix our problems first. But that is just what I believe and every one in entitled to their own opinion (at least for now)

Yep it sure does explain it. Congress and our Adminstration and probably half of our courts are so far off track anymore they are akin to thugs. And if you are from Kenosha, you know just how much thuggery there is in Lake and Cook County IL.

YES! This IS something we need to get done. I know there is a website of civilians asking for money and workers. We need to raise this website up and donate our time and money and build this fence ourselves. We can't depend on our government. This Friday I am going to donate money towards OUR FENCE!

I would like to move congress and the president out of Washington and into Pheonix with big signs saying way the work and were they are staying. Since Pheonix is kidnap capitol of the US now, maybe they would be encouraged to get the fence built faster.
