A Member of Parliament Tells England’s Prime Minister To Stop Spending. Would any American politician have the strength of character to speak like this to our President?

we must continue to persist. talking about a problem is only going to extinguish our anger!!!we need to continue to act and be part of the solution to take back our liberty.persistence and determination alone are omnipitent.
What I would give to hear just ONE of our politians be so bold to just stand up the way this guy did and tell the truth!! They are all so worried about keeping their seat of power that they would never dare to stand up and be this honest! I'm beginning to think that we have nobody in Washington with any integrity…Certainly not Mr. Hannan's brand.
Another time when the opposition party and many Americans failed to stand up and say "you don't have the money" was before the Iraq War. Imagine how much stronger we would be if we had not entered that disastrously ill-conceived misadventure. It's pretty shameful when people feel "populist anger" only over money, and not over sowing destruction in a country that had not harmed us.
Yes, many will agree with you. They will say the US was very, very bad to "destroy a country that had not harmed us." Many supporters of the war (Clinton, Biden, Pelosi, Reid among them) would like to reconsider that past action. Nearly all here say the US is a good country. The Iraq War can't be undone but must be finished.
More importantly, let's talk about the PRESENT. Your recommendation NOW would be?? Yes, I thought so as well. You have no suggestions to move the country forward except to blame Bush for the past. Well, keep on blaming him, but go and do it somewhere else. Those gathering here want solutions for the problems we have now. Some of us see the current solutions being offered as harming our nation. We want to turn to PRINCIPLES to guide us. "Populist anger" is one thing. Demogoguery is another. To use the peoples' anger to gain power (the definition of a demagogue) is what is truly "shameful." I'm not angered over money, but how people are treated, plus the double standards and hypocrisy used to justify certain actions by the Fed govt.
AMEN!!!!…..why dont our politicians who say that they believe as we do have the courage to stick up for us and tell the president exactly where this country is heading if we continue on this path?
Finally, someone with the courage to stand up and tell the Emperor he has no clothes. We need someone like him here in our Congress or Senate. Our government needs a good dose of, "YOU HAVE RUN OUT OF OUR MONEY!"
This guy is my IDOL – wish he was here in the USA. http://www.theidolworld.com/blog/blog/ -my new 912'er kinda blog! check it out! Obama stuff! Who's you Idol in the news? I hope no one.
Hi Glenn
I am feeling very frustrated right now I have been e-mailing all my congressman and all I get back from them is excuses of why they voted the way they did. I'm very tired of talking to the wall. I agree we must MARCH ON WASHINGTON! I also agree the sooner the better. We need term limits for all in Congress and they should not get any benefits once they leave office either! Daniel Hannan was great I wish we all could go and stand before Congress an tell them the same thing, but they would not let us in to do so once they saw how many wanted to.
I also think that everyone that holds a seat in Congress should have to recite part of the Constitution or Bill of Rights every time that they are going to vote on any bill that comes to the table to be voted on. So that maybe they will take the time and think about what they are voting on and if it truly is something that should be done or not.
After viewing Glenn's show Friday night, my wife and I decided we needed to take his advice about what he said.
We need to march on Washington, my fellow Patriots! We need to do this now instead of later. If we wait much longer, I'm afraid that we will not get the opportunities to have our voices heard on the steps of the Capital, and in front of the gates of the White House. It is time to get ACTIVE!
We need to do something to stop what is happening in Washington, their agenda that they are passing is going to alter America as we know it, and alter the American Dream.
The original date we thought about doing this was going to be April 15th, but after thinking about it overnight, we decided to change the date to April 30th. We changed the date for a couple of reasons. Our original thought was to have this march in place of the various Tea Parties around the nation, and now we realize this would be a huge mistake on our part. These are already set up, and they need to happen. We can get our word out at these gatherings, and let people know what we are planning. We also need more time to mobilize the groups of people who want to make it to the march.
The response we received from our posts yesterday were phenomenal! We have received over a hundred emails and responses. Please keep them coming.
We received an email from a person last night who has already set up a web site for us to organize this historical event. It will be up and running hopefully late Monday, or sometime Tuesday. I will let everyone know when it is up and running.
I will make a point to answer everyone's email sent to us, and keep everyone updated on what is developing.
We know that Barb and myself can't organize this alone, and we are going to need everyone's help for something this massive. Any ideas, thoughts or plans are welcome. We need help with permits, transportation, logistics, and basically getting everyone we know in this proud nation to find out about this, and to participate.
It is time now, for the patriots of the United States of America to protect our fellow citizens, our freedoms, our country, and our flag! We need to be the one's responsible for stopping the tyranny going on in Washington. Our brave soldiers have been protecting us for over 200 years, and it is time for us to pay them homage for what they have done for us.
Barb and I are trying to set this up, but it is not our march alone. This is your march, your family's march, and your friends march. Please tell everyone you know about this, and let's do this together, as a nation of free, peace loving individuals. We will not permit violence, weapons, or unrest to happen at this planned march, so if you want this type of action, please do not respond. This is a PEACEFUL march on our nation, plain and simple. We will not be firing the first shot.
Unlike Michelle Obama, I have been proud of this country since the day I was born, and I want to do everything in my power to get it back!
Let Freedom Ring, and in the patriotic spirit of Todd Beamer of flight 93,
We as American citizens are not alone within the walls of our Nation, and this video proves that We are not alone as Americans as citizens of the world. The corruption and ignorance of common sense is obviously not an American thing. We have to concern ourselves as Americans with the sovereignty of our nation, but we must also be emboldened by similar movements throughout the world.
I watch this video and the one featuring Rick Santelli everyday to inspire myself. These video's prove we are not alone. They prove that others believe as we believe. They prove that there are those that would stand up, as we are doing, for principles, for what is right. These men give me hope just as all of you do! Speak out!
Where are the AMERICAN elected to speak up like this? IMPEACH THE THUGS…THEY HAVE NO BALLS TO STAND FOR OUR CONSTITUTION, which they SWORE to DEFEND….I SAY IMPEACH THEM ALL….AMERICANS MUST DEMAND CITIZEN LEADERSHIP!!!!!
Daniel Hannan has got something that no member in congress has, the ability to stand up and speak the truth. Every member in congress continue to support Obama and his destructive path he his leading America down. For those who voted for Obama I hope you are enjoying the change he promised.
I second that one eYoder. Better yet, I would like to replace the Two Useless Senators here in Michigan and have this guy take their place. Nice Job Daniel
I think that this Hannan cat is at the point to where he would risk losing everything he's worked for in his life to say what's on his mind. He could lose all of his political voice by standing up to the Prime Minister. Pretty soon I would bet, that anyone who questions BIG GOVERNMENT will be considered a domestic terrorist for not following the other sheople into the corral for slaughter.
Does anyone realize that Mr. Hannan supports Obama? Read his blog from March 22nd. He makes statements like the video above and warns us of going down the road of nationalized healthcare and yet he supports Obama who is taking us down the road of socialism. This makes me think that he may know what is going on in his own country, but has no idea about what is going on in ours. Also, I found it amusing that he was so thrilled that we had programs here like Glenn Beck. Glenn won't be around much once the fairness doctrine (a Democrat idea) is enacted. http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/Daniel_Hannan
This fellow Hannan speaks forcefully and effectively and says a lot of things I like. We have our Ron Paul..who I strongly support.. but unfortunately Paul does not speak forcefully and seems to be routinely dismissed by the press and for the most part the people. Where is our Daniel Hannon, we need him (or her) so badly?
But isn't the Vice Pres the President of the Senate? Maybe He could relay the Questions and Demeaner of the Elected officials. If he Did his job as stated in the Constitution
Daniel Hannan! He’ the man! I sure wish we had someone here in the U.S. with the eloquence and brass that he has to speak our Manchurian Candidate in the same manner!
THIS guy is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was on Sean Hannity last night via satellite.
Having the ability to have one voice heard like this would be FANTASTIC,
BUT
here WE ARE and if you believe along the same lines as Mr. Hannan
WE CAN have a voice like this only MULTIPLIED by the 1,000's!!!!!!!!!
We as Americans must demand that we be represented by individuals such as this gentlemen and we won't accept anything less. The ball is our court we all just need to step up and band together. Together we can't be denied but as indviduals we will fail. We have be going at as indvidual far to long and is why we are where we are today.
Daniel Hannan needs to come to America! Hannan and I sound a lot alike. He uses some of the same language that I use to describe the situation here. Especially where he says, "Your actions do not match your words". He's definitely on the top of my list of people I'd like to chat with.
I need to e-mail Mr. Beck. I heard some interestig news today in regards to GM…..They sold off one of their parts companies " DELPHI" several years ago…I heard GM BOUGHT it back last month. WTH? I need Glenn to reserach this since I bet he'd get the real facts on this.
Side note____I heard this from someone who works for GM. I have NO idea if the rumor is true ir not—I think it may have some teeth to it since this freind does NOT owrk on the production line for GM!
I have a friend who is employed at Delphi, what you heard is wrong, they just took away health benifits after you retire. They also have rotating layoff's every 2 weeks. (not hourly- engineering)
Boy, do we need someone with the guts and caliber of this Hannan guy in our Government!!
However, our Congress would not listen to him anymore than they listen to us!
They have their own agenda and I am afraid it is one that is not good for America!
We have finally seen what a Statesman looks like & sounds like. Where are the American Statesmen? We should stop voting for Politicians (wheelers & dealers) and demand only Statesmen need apply. May God Bless Mr. Hannon.
Love this guy!! Need more of OUR politicos to stand up and say what he said to the Administration leadership!!! (Especially Geithner, Pelosi, Obama, nad Reid)
It seems like no one really understands this. A "Note" is a certificate of debt. The only reason it can be called "currency" is because people are willing to accept these worthless pieces of paper as payment for goods and services. That is why it is called "legal tender". Take a look at the U.S. Treasury's website. It explains that the services provided by the Federal Reserve (a private corporation, not a government department) to print our currency is a loan to the United States in the form of interest, and that the collateral for this interest is all assets of the government, and all assets appropriated by the government for payment of taxes. Don't take my word for it. Here's their site. Look at the language used very carefully and you will see exactly what I'm talking about. The Fed indicting bankers for fraud is laughable when the Fed has been perpetrating a fraud against sovereign Americans for nearly 100 years.
I've just released a book that explains this in greater detail as well as the history of liberalism, the Democratic Party, and their policies of the past as they relate to what is happening today. I will also be adding information on how to protect your sovereign rights being usurped by our government and the Federal Reserve. If you like my book, tell others, and keep an eye on my site as you wlil definitely want to be armed with the information in the book as well as the protective measures that will soon be available. This book will open your eyes to the big picture of what is really happening in America.
Keep spreading the word to wake up our slumbering nation! We WILL take our nation back in spite of efforts to take it from us! Your sovereignty as Americans is under attack, and you need to be armed with the necessary information to protect yourselves!
And it's the reason they won't stand up and say something that irks me. After all, the last time I looked, we still had Free Speech at least as of today.
They all are saving their jobs. Staying on the good side with whoever is in power in Washington and then filling us full of crap to smooth it over and get reelected. I say we send them ALL home and find some real statsmen to send in their place and take the country back.
After watching this more than once, I followed related videos on YouTube, and found further similarities to what's going on here, like our government ignoring the Constitution, and the voice of dissent being shouted down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ceejnrM858k (I could do without the X-Files intro, but nevertheless…)
My hope is that Daniel Hannan will be an inspiration our Washington Senators and Congressman (especially Republicans!). They need to stop being so mamby-pamby and Shout out against what is happening to and in Our Country.
This man is exactly what we need here in America!! He said everything, I think, that everyone in America wants to say to Obama and the Congress. It's good to see somebody somewhere has the balls and the backbone to stand up and say exactly what needs to be said.
Kudos to Mr. Hannan, and double-dog-dare to anyone in Congress willing to take a similar stand. This man has more in common with our founding fathers than most people in our own government.
Sounds like the UK prime minister has a carbon copy of our presidents plan. Now we need conservatives to stand up and follow Sir Hannan's lead on confronting the Statist that is our president.
I agree but Obama's handlers would never let us get that close to speak to him like that unless it was under a different pretense, say, like, "I am for card check, can I ask you a question?" and then tell him he has spent all of our money.
I saw this guy a few times on FOX today. The thing I found most disgusting is that he not only knew his political system well, but he knew our political system better than we do… He was able to comment intelligently on many of the issues he was asked about. Too bad there was a satellite delay. It could have been a really cool interview had there been more conversational exchange.
Even if some congressmen or senator did 'dare speak to our beloved Obama' that way, CNN wouldn't even let the guy finish without ripping him a new one.
I think Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), at least ideologically would agree with Mr. Hannan. I think one of the only problems, is that we don't have a session where the president goes in front of congress to take questions. Who ever does would probably have to call a press conference, and even then they would probably be subdued by the media. Also, I am not sure that there is a format here where one can confront the president as an adversary. Until the next election cycle, he is pretty isolated from the real world. Look at Bush, after he won the second election, it pretty much appeared that he didn't care a lick about what was being said about him.
Also what good does it do to confront Mr. Obama, he is just a charismatic puppet who follows what his advisors tell him to do.
You and I will never see this kind of backbone in our halls of government because they are all in up to their ears in crooked deals, they are all the same here. HELL I WANT THIS GUY TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT, OBAMA ISN'T A CITIZEN SO WHY NOT ENGLAND GETS ONE TOO ! THIS GUY HAS SOME BALLS AND I WISH HE WOUND SPAWN A FEW OVER HERE !
Absolutely. If they speak up, they will be left off of something they need later. Or they won't get this guy's vote or that guy's vote on a bill they sponsor because they spoke against something.
I really wish someone in the house or senate would have the guts to stand up and be a voice for the American people they are supposed to be serving. My guess is everyone is too scared of the repercussions should they speak out. It is hard to speak up when you have not been leading by example though and since most Republicans have made poor decisions and given in to liberal viewpoints the last few years they are going to be hard pressed to speak out. We need some fresh faces in government without the skeletons in the closet most of our leaders are carrying with them.
I loved the show tonight! I watched this Video this morning and was ready to grab a plane ticket, and a rope, and bring this guy back to America! I knew that Glenn would have him on today.
I think the bigger picture however, is the fact that no one in Congress, Democrat or Republican, is willing to rock the boat in the manner that this guy did. I agree with Glenn; this is not only about Obama, it is about all of them letting us down.
I agree with you. Where is the true American that is going to stand up in front of DEAR LEADER & tell him off like that. Finally someone telling these spend happy demigods where to get off
This guy is phenomenal!! I would like to have the chance to address obama like that, or maybe we can borrow him and he can do it!! It's so refreshing to see that there are still intelligent & responsible people who will take a stand. Bravo Mr. Hannan. Wanna to move to America???
This gentlemen from England has more sense then most of the liberals in our congress. The UK is headed down the same slippery slope the US is going threw and this man realizes it. Hopefully our government and those governments around the world like the UK, China( with their new stimulus package) and most of the nations in the European Union except France (Who show some kind of logic…. I know, I don't understand it either the French doing something right.) will realize what to do; or the world will be in poor economic shape.
I love this guy! Daniel Hannan I will buy you a home in the USA if you can get into US Congress lol !!! Now ladies and gentlemen on that video you have just witnessed a once in a lifetime find, a TRUE representation for and by the people! This is what we need to get back to!!!! This is what we want!!!
HEY REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS IN SENATE do you have the backbone to do that? Come on post your reply here you know your a closet Glen Beck fan and you at least have to see what people say behind your back. Tell you what if any member of congress can do that to the Washington administration you deserve your pay this year, the rest we should strip down to nothing.
Last thing, as I am a new member an original observation regarding the bailouts I would like to share.
I personally and professionally have learned more from failure than success. In short, not to repeat
There should be no more taxpayer money funneled to the able. Period. There are other remedies like bankruptcy and dissolution.. Exploitation of a supposed crisis is a smokescreen. Nothing more.
and if you don't want to read the whole thing, I had to post in multiples here is the jist of it.
"Unfortunately, our history shows us when Government gets involved, it tends to take something that is working and make it not work nearly as well. Civil society works because it is everything Government is not. It is small, it is personal, it is responsive, it is accountable. Civil society must be protected from any effort to make it more like Government." – DeMint
I wrote to my Senator Sessions, who voted against all this madness so far and to DeMint from another State. I suggest we all do the same. Repeatedly, with decorum and intelligence.
easy peasy Stephanie and thanks for asking. I don't know if I can post links here but you can watch the video at youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TPi0gR-P8w – if the link doesn't work then you can just search on DeMint. It will come up I just checked it. While his argument is right, the bill still passed and for that you can go to Michelle Malkin's site and fogive me if it doesn't link but you can google that as well http://www.michellemalkin.com
It's atrocious. And as an American, I am SPEECHLESS>
and by the way, the bill passed it is called the GIVE/SERVE Act or some such mockery…
continued:
Government will not and, by definition, cannot strengthen and replace the civil society. Volunteerism is something that works in America. When we think of America, we do not think of Congress and Presidents, we think of Little League games and PTA meetings and bake sales.
Civil society is America. It responds to needs, meets challenges, and solves problems because it is free from Government. Because volunteers donate their time and money, accountability is acute. I have seen it. I have sat on a United Way board. Every year we evaluate every program and every dollar we have given to someone, and we determine is it working or can we make it more efficient.
If the program is not working, the money goes away immediately. That does not happen here. If the program does not work here, we add more money to it. That is going to happen with every program we start, including the one we are talking about today.
Projects that do not work in a civil society get cut. Organizers who lose or abuse funds are dismissed. It is voluntary. So everyone is invested in its success. We know the large groups throughout America, the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, the United Way, the Salvation Army, the YMCA, Catholic Charities, fraternal orders, groups such as Kiwanis, Rotary, Knights of Columbus. These are large organizations, but they work because they are locally controlled.
Smaller groups, local arts councils and community theatres, PTAs, youth sports leagues, the animal rescues, the book clubs, crisis pregnancy centers, soup kitchens, food and other clothes drives that go on, church service groups, they are everywhere.
Those are the little platoons, the little democracies that make this country work. For us to presume, in the Congress, that somehow we are going to reach out into all these groups and make it work better is pretty presumptuous based on our history.
Why now? Why at a time in economic crisis with unimaginable debt and spending do we come in and say: We need to spend another $10 billion over the next 10 years to create another Government program to do something that is already working.
At the same time, we are talking about creating this new bureaucracy to replace private voluntarism with Government programming. We are actually cutting some of the incentives for people to give to charity and for the private sector to work. The President’s budget actually cuts the charitable donations of the people who give the most to charity in this country. So look at what we are doing. We are making it harder for the private sector to work.
You also look at what we have done over the years, forgetting that a lot of private charity and the motivation to serve God and community is a religious-based motivation. What have we done in this country?
We have essentially tried to purge that motivation from our country. Most public schools, or at least a lot of them, used to sponsor Boy Scout groups. But after being sued for years because the Boy Scouts have God in their pledge and they set standards for their leaders that some do not agree with, the threat of lawsuits essentially means our Government schools have thrown out the Boy Scouts.
More than half our astronauts, half our FBI agents, a lot of the most successful people in this country were trained in the Boy Scouts to serve their community, where their character was developed. But this Federal Government has forced them out of public places. For years we purged religion from our society. Religion was the primary motivation for a lot of civic groups, a lot of services, a lot of charities, a lot of hospitals that were formed, a lot of schools.
But we have said that has no place. Because we have unleashed the ACLU and other groups to constantly sue and intimidate groups, that religious motivation has been moved, has been purged in many cases.
Now we are going to come in and help solve the problem we have created. We want to promote voluntarism, we want to promote community service, when what we have done over the last several decades is essentially tried to destroy the motivation for people to serve a cause that is greater than themselves.
continued…
Well-intended legislation has left more than half of all Americans dependent on the Government. Today in America over half of Americans get their income from the government or a government source. About 20 percent of the country works for the government or an entity that gets its primary source of revenue from government. Another 20 percent gets their income and health care from Medicare or Social Security. Once you add in welfare and other subsidies, you make it so over half of all Americans are already dependent on the Government. This bill proposes to spend nearly $6 billion over 5 years, which means it will be probably $10 billion, probably more, over a 10-year period. It will have nearly a quarter of Americans working for it, which means it will be the 14th largest company, as far as employees, in the entire world.
What have we done here that suggests we can manage anything like that? Do you see anything in our history as a Federal Government that shows we have the ability to effectively manage something like that without extreme levels of waste and fraud and abuse? Look what we have done recently with the stimulus plan and the bailout plans. As soon as it comes to light what is actually happening with that money, people are outraged at what is going on. Despite the good intentions of this bill, we are creating a huge new government entity that will be unmanageable and violates some of the core principles of our civil society. Every time the Government steps in to solve a problem, it creates three new problems in its place.
This bill is everything wrong with how Congress sees the world. Government will make service organizations less effective, less responsive, and less personal. When the French historian de Tocqueville came to the United States not long after we were founded, one of the things that amazed him about our country that was so different from France was that in his home country when there was a problem, people would say: Someone ought to do it and government should do it; but in America we were different. When someone saw a problem, they went and got a friend and formed a small group and solved the problem themselves. Much of that was motivated by religious convictions that our place in this world is not only to help ourselves but to love and help those around us. That was key.
Jefferson called it little democracies, when he saw these little groups all around America voluntarily doing things to solve problems and make communities better. Burke called them little platoons. Most people who understand America know that those voluntary groups are what made our country great and what sustain us even today. Civil society binds communities, not by its fruits, but by its motives–charity, donations, giving without thought of getting anything in return. This is the selfless sacrifice that happens throughout America today. This is what works.
What does not work is what we are doing right here. The big difference is private service organizations exist for the people who receive the aid. Government service organizations exist for the people who give it–in this case, for the people who are paid to do it. You cannot pay people to volunteer and expect the organization to remain focused on its mission. Charity is a private, moral impulse, not a government program.
DeMint had a similar whooping yesterday that we should all take note on.
NATIONAL SERVICE REAUTHORIZATION ACT — (Senate – March 24, 2009)
Mr. DeMINT. Mr. President, I wish to speak for few minutes on the Serve America Act. I think this is a great opportunity to talk about what is good about a lot of the Members of the Senate. I certainly appreciate and applaud the sponsors of this bill for their good intentions and know their hearts are in the right place. Some of my best friends are supporting this bill. But I think, as we look at what is good about the hearts of many Members of the Senate, we need to recognize this bill does represent a lot of what is wrong with our Federal Government today–a lot of our philosophies, and a lot of our departures from a constitutional form of government.
What works in America today is our civil society–a lot of the volunteer groups that many of us have been a part of. I know for years I spent more time in United Way and a lot of the charity groups, being on their boards back in my community, and I saw what the volunteer arts groups and PTAs and health groups did to build a strong community. Civil society works in America. They are small groups. They are the true engines of character in our country. They promote service and patriotism. In this time where we have seen some of our economic institutions let us down, we have certainly seen our Government and our policies let us down, civil society does not let us down. It works in America today.
It is understandable why Congress would want to get involved. We see that passion to serve, that desire to do something that is greater than yourselves. We look at that working in our civil society and we want to get involved and expand it.
Unfortunately, our history shows us when Government gets involved, it tends to take something that is working and make it not work nearly as well. Civil society works because it is everything Government is not. It is small, it is personal, it is responsive, it is accountable. Civil society must be protected from any effort to make it more like Government.
That is what we are doing with this bill today. This bill centralizes control of important functions of our civil society. There is a downside to good intentions here in Government. The Founders created a limited government and our oath to support and defend the Constitution means that is our focus here. Our oath is to a limited government. The Founders wanted the people to be free from our good intentions. Government charity is anathema to what our Founders intended and what our Constitution stands for. Despite our good intentions, where we try to implement those good intentions and our compassion through the force of Government, we are effectively violating our oath of office here.
I applaud Daniel Hannan! I wish that our representatives in the Congress and the House had the balls to speak UP & speak OUT like he did!! He obviously speaks his mind and stands up for what is right!! He is not a coward!! WE ARE LOSING OUR COUNTRY!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant! Absolutely Brilliant. WHY oh WHY can't anyone say those same things to Obama?? OBAMA!! YOU HAVE RUN OUT OF OUR MONEY!!
The same nonsense is happening here in the US………… I noticed the PM sat there smirking though, as the man was speaking….such arrogance….reminds me of someone………….
When I was young I studied for a Degree at University.I read Marx,Politics of this and of that etc.I remember reading a novel about Russian political prisoners during Stalin's regime.I can't remember the title of the novel. Now I feel that I am almost in the cell of that condemned prisoner;here in Great Britain.I am feeling like this because of Gordon Brown and Nu Labour.Give me an S.L.R.
I wish one of our represenatives had the guts this guy had. I thought what he said was well thought out and accurate. The only thing I couldn't handle was how much he sounded like "Niles" on the show Fraiser.
I concur. Why in the HELL does'nt any of our congressmen have the balls to STAND UP and say something like this!!! Are they just chicken sh%t? Are there no more patriots out there? What the hell did we elect these people for? God, in 2 years these convicts must be voted OUT!!
ThisMan is the voice of experience ,
his statements should be used in trying to educate those who here in this country who some how think that in doing the same thing that the UK has already done and been doing , that we will get a better out come.
If anyone wants to leave Mr. Hannan a comment for his youtube video, Glenn Beck or Cavuto appearances…I found a blog by him at telegraph.co.uk. You have to register to post.
I just wanted to express my appreciation for what he did as it really got to me and I have renewed hope that people are FINALLY starting to get it!
I would like to see Congress put on Social Security. Take away the pensions for life, and for their wives if they are gone. They are supposed to be serving us, not the other way around. It is time for the AMERICAN people say enough is enough. They get automatic pay raises. That is ridiculous and we pay for it day after day. Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Barney Frank need to be replaced NOW. Obama is putting us in extreme danger with his ideas. Did anyone see how Rohm Emmanuel was giving him signals last night when reporters were asking somewhat tough questions and he would start 2 stammer, he would look up and Emmanuel would use his hand how to answer. I caught it, the camera showed it only a couple of times, but it was plain what he was doing.
We need 2 make Congress accountability to us.
Stop the perks, such as plane rides. Rent a car, or fly a commercial airliner. LET US SEE WHAT YOU ARE PASSING BEFORE IT GOES TO THE PRESIDENT FOR A SIGNATURE. No matter how small or large the bill is, we need to be able to see what THEY are spending our money on.
Let them have a one week break at Christmas, one week at Easter; the rest of the time, they stay in Washington and do the people's work.
When they reach 65, put them on Medicare..
If they were put on Social Security, I don't think it would take them 24 hrs to fix it.
Make Congress pay back every cent they have "borrowed" from Social Security this yr. Not next yr, BUT NOW.
Thank GOD for people like Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity for telling the truth.
I think part of the problem is that a lot of the Republicans in Congress want more power like the Democrats do, so they don't want to speak out against something that they want themselves.
I loved todays show… Daniel Hannan was superb! When I saw him on youtube today I felt some real hope that enough people are waking up and that we can change things. God I'd love to see him in our congress, could he teach our politicians a thing or two. Imagine an elequent speaker that doesn't need a teleprompter and knows you can't spend yourself out of a problem you got into by spending! And he had a favorable mention for Ron Paul. That's change I CAN believe in!
I watched Beck's interview with Hannan on the show tonight and had an epiphany, with all this talk about the "nations coming together" and world governance I think Beck needs to expand the 912 campaign internationally by recruiting some other key leaders like Hannan to unite all the conservative ticked off citizens of socialist leaning nations.
American Politicians Are Cowards… They will continue to Kiss Obamas Ass than to object against his "Economic recovery plan"…..
But it is Great to see that the British people have Daniel Hannan to speak for them.
I wish there was a way to bottle this and import it. I saw him on Cavuto today. He said that he had supported Obama (not that he could vote), but that he did so for different reasons having to do with international relations. He also said that we were paying the price for having elected Obama. Over all though it seems like Europe is waking up too. It's nice to know that we aren't alone on the international stage either.
Of course we don't and I'll tell you why. Any one on the right that dares to stand up against the liberal propoganda machine will get lambasted in the most scathing way possible. Nothing, absolutely nothing is off limits to these people if you stand in their way. Look at what they did to Hillary Clinton during the last election, and she is one of their own.
Not Cowards. Americans sir or madam, are NOT COWARDS. All we need do is encourage those that are there now and vote the next acceptable in. Vote with intelligence, not emotion. See my post on DeMint's diatribe yesterday. Almost as compelling but a bit more relevant as I think the current Admin's agenda is different.
I would chip in several bucks to have him come to America and do a speaking engagement on the Senate floor, since no one in Congress seems to have the testicular fortitude to speak out that forcefully and articulately.
I think the larger problem is that both parties are experts at raising our ire and forcing us to choose sides.
One of the comments Glenn was reading commented about suggested term limits for Congressional officials. I fully support that and have suggested the same thing. Problem is… right now the same entity that votes itself raises would have to make those changes.
My state considered term limits in the 1980's. We decided we would be fools to do it if no other state did. It's the same with earmarks. Unless BOTH parties reject 'em, the Republicans would be stupid not to put in their 40%. Their voters would promptly eject them and elect new people who would send them their pork, you can be sure.
Right now that's the way the game is played, and it's why we feel powerless!
Well I did not say Americans are a bunch of cowards…it says we HAVE. I meant all the politicians kissing Obama's ass… sorry next time I will try to be clearer lol
Past the link to this vid and email it to your reps in congress. Tell them this is what you would say to them if given the change.
STOP the spending! Stop the bailouts! Stop what you are doing and just go home. Our economy and our country will be better off if you just STFU and go home.
Yes it would, but how many of them are going to do that? I mean really, how many are going to put aside politics and say what really needs to be said? I think that's why this site was started, because too many politicians won't say what needs to be said.
This is the kind of man we need to elect to Congress! One that will not bow to leaders of either party, speak up for what's right, and VOTE for what's right!
"Fear is the foundation of most governments; but it is so sordid and brutal a passion, and renders men in whose breasts it predominates so stupid and miserable, that Americans will not be likely to approve of any political institution which is founded on it."
http://www.theidolworld.com/blog/blog/ in depth review of news topics, did you know "Give act" is going to affect your children?
we must continue to persist. talking about a problem is only going to extinguish our anger!!!we need to continue to act and be part of the solution to take back our liberty.persistence and determination alone are omnipitent.
Listen to Ron Paul
This is so beautiful!
"PATRIOT MARCH ON WASHINGTON, 2009"
The site is http://www.912action.org/
Please use this email for correspondence until then – marchonwashingtonnow@yahoo.com
Let Freedom Ring, and in the patriotic spirit of Todd Beamer of flight 93,
Let's Roll!
Here's a guy who is telling it like it is—I wonder how he'd like to become an American! I'd sponsor him…
We as American citizens are not alone within the walls of our Nation, and this video proves that We are not alone as Americans as citizens of the world. The corruption and ignorance of common sense is obviously not an American thing. We have to concern ourselves as Americans with the sovereignty of our nation, but we must also be emboldened by similar movements throughout the world.
Very nice, Daniel Hannan. Very nice.
I watch this video and the one featuring Rick Santelli everyday to inspire myself. These video's prove we are not alone. They prove that others believe as we believe. They prove that there are those that would stand up, as we are doing, for principles, for what is right. These men give me hope just as all of you do! Speak out!
demand WE RID THE FEDERAL RESERVE NOW!!!!!
This guy is a hero! We will never see any more Mr. Smith's here!
Man!!! Can some CONSERVATIVE in our own government grow a pair like this guy must have!!!!!
Tell it like it is with no PC!!!!
Daniel Hannan has got something that no member in congress has, the ability to stand up and speak the truth. Every member in congress continue to support Obama and his destructive path he his leading America down. For those who voted for Obama I hope you are enjoying the change he promised.
JOIN THE 9.12 REVOLUTION!
Glenn Beck recently asked Millions of Americans across our Nation to make a commitment to follow the Nine Principles and 12 Values!
Now is your chance to help spread the message to our government to remind them that "THEY work for Us"! and "We Surround Them"!
Order your 9.12 Revolution t-shirt right now while supplies last and wear it to the next Tea Party in your city this April 15th, 2009!
Amen Brother… We need a bunch of Daniel Hannan's to send to DC!
+1
Hannan sounds like our founding fathers would if they were commenting on current affairs. Where are our articulate, forthright guys? and gals?!
If someone here spoke like that to Obama they would disappear the next day, or at the very least, be bombarded with bogus ethics charges.
We as Americans must demand that we be represented by individuals such as this gentlemen and we won't accept anything less. The ball is our court we all just need to step up and band together. Together we can't be denied but as indviduals we will fail. We have be going at as indvidual far to long and is why we are where we are today.
Semper Fi
Daniel Hannan needs to come to America! Hannan and I sound a lot alike. He uses some of the same language that I use to describe the situation here. Especially where he says, "Your actions do not match your words". He's definitely on the top of my list of people I'd like to chat with.
Impressive speech! Brutal and to the point. And to think he did it without a teleprompter!
This guy ROCKS!
I have watched Mr. Hannan several times…I am crying that we do not have MORE like HIM in this COUNTRY!
Federal Reserve Notes Are Not Money
The Fed indicting bankers for fraud is laughable when the Fed has been perpetrating a fraud against sovereign Americans for nearly 100 years.
http://www.ustreas.gov/education/faq/currency/leg...
This book will open your eyes to the big picture of what is really happening in America.
http://www.nathanhagman.com
Keep spreading the word to wake up our slumbering nation! We WILL take our nation back in spite of efforts to take it from us! Your sovereignty as Americans is under attack, and you need to be armed with the necessary information to protect yourselves!
Nathan
This man has more in common with our founding fathers than most people in our own government.
it is so refreshing to see a politician speak forthrightly and honestly
Sounds like the UK prime minister has a carbon copy of our presidents plan. Now we need conservatives to stand up and follow Sir Hannan's lead on confronting the Statist that is our president.
I agree but Obama's handlers would never let us get that close to speak to him like that unless it was under a different pretense, say, like, "I am for card check, can I ask you a question?" and then tell him he has spent all of our money.
Can We ask him To Immigrate to the US?????
And May I Suggest watching The House Of Commons on CSPAN The wife and I love it!!!!
I wish the US House would take some lessons on debate.
We have Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) who are some others?
Or they won't get this guy's vote or that guy's vote on a bill they sponsor because they spoke against something.
amen!!!!!
Margaret Thacker had it figured out also. She said, " the trouble with Socialism is, you eventually run out of other peoples' money".
We have plenty of people saying the very things this guy is. We don't need more voices, we need more listeners; Especially listeners in government.
Finally someone telling these spend happy demigods where to get off
I noticed that too. He showed no respect for Hannan. How obama-like.
Barack Obama G20 Meeting and Plans for One World Global Currency http://www.wallstreetmarketnews.blogspot.com
Interesting, my question to you is did you spend an equal amount of required time on the History of your own Country?
Daniel Hannan should be the prime minister of England.
Repeatedly, with decorum and intelligence.
where did you get this statement from? I want to look it up – IT IS SOOOOO RIGHT!
easy peasy Stephanie and thanks for asking.
Wow, looks like Brown and Obama have a lot in common
Standing ovation Sir Daniel Hannan, you have moxie…..
Think most involved in 9/12 would willingly allow you to whip ALL our elected officials into shape…..
ThisMan is the voice of experience ,
his statements should be used in trying to educate those who here in this country who some how think that in doing the same thing that the UK has already done and been doing , that we will get a better out come.
What is the definition of insanity again???
If anyone wants to leave Mr. Hannan a comment for his youtube video, Glenn Beck or Cavuto appearances…I found a blog by him at telegraph.co.uk. You have to register to post.
I just wanted to express my appreciation for what he did as it really got to me and I have renewed hope that people are FINALLY starting to get it!
Oops! That link to his blog is:

Watching this guy makes me rethink my position on cloning. Could we have a few copies sent over here?
AMEN!!!!!
Wonder if he's married???
He is kinda cute!
I don't think we have anyone in Congress that's man enough to stand up to the ever-so-popular Obama.
We need someone like this to stand up and call out Obama, but all we have are a bunch of cowards. Much respect to Daniel Hannen!
And that's the reason we need to get them all out and start fresh
It's not that we're entirely cowards, Sparks.
He's in favor of Obama, so I doubt he would be willing to call him out. For some reason, the media isn't reporting this guy is Pro-Obama.
Kudos!!!! where can we get one of those?
Past the link to this vid and email it to your reps in congress. Tell them this is what you would say to them if given the change.
STOP the spending! Stop the bailouts! Stop what you are doing and just go home. Our economy and our country will be better off if you just STFU and go home.

Do you think we could sign this guy up to come over here & tell Obama off too? I'd be willing to chip in on it!
It would mean a lot more if one of our elected officials stood up and said this to Obama rather than one from a foreign nation.
