New Calls for Assault Gun Ban

(WSJ.com)

Gun-control activists have renewed calls for the federal government to reinstate a ban on so-called assault weapons in the wake of Tuesday’s deadly shooting rampage in Alabama.

Stricter national gun-control laws face dim prospects in Washington, however, despite Democratic control of Congress and the White House.

Gun sales have soared in the months since the presidential election, due in part to fears among gun owners that President Barack Obama intends to ban assault weapons, or guns that can fire rounds more quickly than standard weapons.

Do we need new gun control laws?  Is the 220yr old Second Amendment still valid?

God I am pissed off I tried to watch that propaganda I told you guys about on 2020 If I Only had a gun well I only made it through 15 min. worth and had to stop myself from launching my boot at the tv. it was the most biased piece of c**p I have ever seen Plus if any of you live in the lehigh valley of Pa one of the people involved was a Bethlahem police officer I already plan to request of the chief a full investigation as a will issue state how dare a member of law enforcment missrepresent the issue. They took untrained people and pitted them against a certified law enforcement firearm trainer (who also was given the upper hand by knowing which person was armed durring the excersise).

Unfortunately for me, I managed to watch the entire program without loosing my dinner. The dog didn't know why I was saying "NO!" NO! NOT RIGHT!" to the TV. Oh well, It does seem rather odd that during the shooting scenarios, the PD knew right where to start shooting after they shot the teacher. Every one of the untrained people in the classroom seemed to be placed in the same seat. Coincidence? I will not disparage an LEO. Local law enforcement has its hands full with many issues. In this case, I want to, but I won't. I just wonder that why 20/20 only talked with people from the east coast? It seems to me that most of the laws for tight gun control are either in CA, IL, or the east coast. No interviews/simunition scenarios were made in central or western states that had CCW's or open carry laws. This kind of "one sided journalism" is typical of people who like to follow the Modern Progressive Movement.

Should the US Citizen lose the right to keep and bear arms, we will have peace & freedom. The peace & freedom of the dead.

  3. Just saw abc's 2020 doing an anti gun ownership special called if i only had a gun think we have to watch and debunk their theories which they will prove through deception.gather our thoughts here and send it to beck with a request for debate on the issues or even get the nra to provide a responce to the show..

Then why would you argue for something that violates one of the rights spelled out in the Bill of Rights?

  5. 357ben says:

Slight correction. We've been loosing rights for the past 100 years or so! Not just the last 8 years!

  6. 357ben says:

Very true. In the average year, there are about 9,500 murders committed with firearms. Compare that to the 2.5 million to 3 million times a year a firearm is used in self defense, to prevent a crime. Seems we need more guns not less!

I say we need to throw the U.N. out of our country NOW! Here's why.

  8. 357ben says:

Here's another reason why we can NEVER surrender our gun rights!

    Any question?

  11. Jack yes this is a bipartisan group.just like there are plenty of democrats that are against gun controll.Your missconception is that for something to be bipartisan poeple from the other side have to compromise with your way of thought non the issue. When to truely be bipartisan it meens the issue is agreed on by both sides.Just like the budget it was only voted in by democrats republicans had no say in the issue and the vote reflected that. But the second ammendment is truly bipartisan because there is no room for compromise and both sides understand that.
